PROGRAM PERIOD
The program will be held from July 4th to 31st, 2026, with 450 volunteers expected to be recruited.
APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
1."Compatriot youth":
(1)Applicants should hold an i-Compatriot Card when applying for the program. Applicants must be in the 11th grade or above at the time of application and between the ages of 17 before November 30th, 2026 and 25 before July 4th, 2026 (Only those born from July 5th, 2001 to November 30th, 2009 are eligible, as shown on passport).

(2)Applicants should live in an English speaking country (those not living in an English speaking country must be an English native speaker or provide proof of achieving higher than CEFR B2 level). Applicants must have basic communication skills in Mandarin.
(3)Applicants who apply for this program as of Hakka origin must be recommended by Hakka association or groups in their place of overseas residence, and note their Hakka ancestral place in Taiwan when applying.
(4)Applicants who have previously participated in the English Teaching Volunteer Service Program can apply again; however, those who have never participated in this program will be given the priority for admission.
2."Students recommended by the Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning (TCML) and Taiwanese Mandarin Teachers teaching in mainstream schools":
(1Applicants are not required to possess the i-Compatriot Card. Other requirements are same as "Compatriot youth".
(2)Applicants recommended by TCML have to submit the recommendation letter (in Chinese) provided by the teacher.
(3)Each Taiwanese Mandarin Teacher teaching in mainstream schools is able to recommend 2 students, and the students must submit the recommendation letter (in Chinese) when applying for the program.
(4)Please have the recommender write the recommendation letter in accordance with the “Guidelines for Writing Recommendation Letters.” Once completed, the recommender should send it directly to the following email address: ocactree@ocac.gov.tw.
*Guidelines for Writing Recommendation Letters:
To clearly identify the student being recommended, please include the following information:
A. The region/country the student is from;
B. The school the student is attending;
C. The student's Chinese and English names;
D. The reasons for recommending this student.
To verify that the teacher is qualified to write the recommendation letter, the teacher should briefly describe their background and provide information that demonstrates their identity as a Taiwanese heritage Mandarin teacher.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1.Application period: from November 25th ,2025 until March 1st ,2026 (Taiwan Standard Time, GMT+8).
2.Please apply for the program on the OCAC activity registration website (https://register.ocac.gov.tw/cht/index.php?/sign/2026summer) and upload the following documents as e-files to the “document submission” column of the registration system.
(1)Program Rules signed by the applicant and his/her parents. (Please sign in block letters in Chinese or English)
(2)A photocopy of the passport or permanent residence certificate of the country of residence.
(3)Self-introduction (please highlight personal characteristics, aptitudes and background, such as leadership in club activities, experience in teamwork and group life, education or teaching and social work expertise and volunteer experience, etc.), and attach a 1.5-inch bust photo taken within the last 6 months. Please refer to the self-introduction sample for reference.
(4)One copy of results transcripts including all semester grades or evaluation results of off-campus learning above Grade 9.
(5)Proof of volunteer work and other work or achievements, honors, deeds and qualifications(those submitting these documents with the application will be given priority; not mandatory if none).
(6)Those not living in an English speaking country must be an English native speaker or provide proof of achieving higher than CEFR B2 level.
(7)Recommendation letter from teachers (Compatriot youth applicants are not required).
*The recommendation letter has to be sent by the teacher directly to OCAC’s email: ocactree@ocac.gov.tw with the subject line: “2026 Overseas Youth English Teaching Volunteer Service Program – Teacher Recommendation Letter.”
3.Admission notification will be announced on OCAC activity registration website before April 2nd, 2026, and the OCAC overseas offices will contact admitted volunteers to confirm participation before April 18th, 2026. The organizer will send the documents including information on airport pick-up survey to admitted volunteers around April 20th, 2026. Admitted volunteers must submit the following documents by May 10th, 2026 (Taiwan Standard Time, GMT+8). Failure to reply or upload the required documents on time will be regarded as giving up the right to participate:
(1)Arrival flight information with a copy of purchased airline ticket
(2)Health Certificate.
(3)Copy of valid medical insurance (must cover overseas medical treatment).
(4)Consent form for portrait rights and Pre-Departure Notice, signed by the applicant and his/her parents (sign in block letters in Chinese or English).

ACTIVITY CONTENTS
1.First week: Teaching skill enhancement training.
2.Each participant will teach English at a junior high school or elementary school in Taiwan (Teaching time will be 8 hours a day Monday to Friday, participants must also attend all scheduled evening and weekend activities).
3.Fourth week (5-day): Taiwan tour (cultural and scenic spot visits.)
PROGRAM FEES
1.For the entire duration of the program, the sponsors will pay for meals, accommodation, group transportation in Taiwan and administration expenses. The sponsors will also provide NT$4,000,000 accident insurance and NT$400,000 accident medical insurance.
2.The participant must pay the following expenses:
(1)Round-trip air fares from the country of residence to Taiwan.
(2)Personal medical expenses above insurance compensation.
(3)Accommodation, transportation and other expenses if the participant arrives earlier or leaves later.
(4)Other personal expenses.
PASSPORT AND VISA
The participant must have a passport with more than six months validity to be allowed entry into Taiwan. Different passports have different number of visa-exempt days. Visa Exempt Entry and Landing Visa are NOT applicable for any stay over 90 days. The participant should contact the nearest R.O.C. (Taiwan) Embassy, Mission or Cultural Office beforehand to apply for a suitable visa if you intend to stay for longer than 30 days.
The OCAC and program organizer shall not be held responsible for any inconvenience caused if the participant's visa expires.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
1.During the program, accommodation is based on the principle of 4–6 people of the same sex sharing one room.
2.This program is international volunteer service in nature, not a pleasure visit. The program takes place during Taiwan’s summer, when the weather is hot and humid, and mosquitoes and insects may be common. The schools involved may be in remote areas or lack teaching resources, with the living environment not up to the standard of the city. We hope volunteers can have an in-depth experience and merge into local life through teaching service and hope they can have a correct understanding of volunteer service.
3.The OCAC reserves the right to review, admit and allocate volunteers; after an admitted volunteer is allocated to a school, no request for change of school will be accepted.
4.Applicants who have special medical conditions (including heart problems, diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy, pregnancy, allergy, mental illness, etc.) that may affect their ability to serve are encouraged not to participate in this Program. The Organizer will not be liable for any situations arising from existing health conditions.
5.Adherence to the program regulations is required. All volunteers must complete English teaching program service unless this is prevented by health reasons or force majeure. Those who complete the full 3-week program and who submit a report on their thoughts and experiences before the activity ends and who have not violated the rules of the undertaking unit or the school where they volunteered will be given an 80-hour English-Chinese service certificate. Any participant who violates these rules and regulations can be subject to probation and permanent expulsion from the Program. The Organizer and schools reserve the right to inform the parents, guardians, and/or relatives of the participant-in question if such circumstances occur.
For any doubts about registration, the Chinese prospectus and the OCAC's explanations shall take precedence.
*It is recommended to use a personal computer (desktop) for registration to avoid situations where the use of a mobile phone or tablet may cause incomplete data transmission.

1.Objectives:
To enhance the knowledge and understanding of Taiwan's development situation and to promote interaction between young people in Taiwan and participants from overseas so the latter become a new force in their overseas compatriot societies when they return home, to promote exchange and contacts between Taiwan and their home countries.
2.Activity period: August 1-14 ,2026.
3.Eligibility:
Young people aged 16 to under 25 (as shown on passport), age calculated to
the start date of the session enrolled for, currently residing outside of Taiwan,currently residing in the Eurasian and Canada(except for countries with specialized sessions, such as Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.) In good academic standing and health, holding an I-Compatriot Card, holding a passport of country of residence or Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement, adaptable to group life during the study program, are willing to share images and videos on their own social media during the study program and of Chinese/Taiwanese descent are eligible to apply.
4.Activities:
(1)National situation and culture courses: national situation, economy, education, life in Taiwan and culture.
(2)Tours of government, economic, and cultural institutions: Visits to the Office of the President, museums, cultural parks and creative industry parks.
(3)Industry visits: Visits Trusted Industry Sectors, namely semiconductors, AI, military, security and surveillance, and next-generation communications.
(4)Visits to Taiwan's ecological environment, national parks, historical monuments, and distinctive scenic spots.
(5)Visit to university campuses and interaction with students.
5.Registration procedure and time limit:
(1)The registration period for each session: From March 1 until June 30, 2026 or all places are taken.
(2)Registration process:
1.) Registration method:

2.) Applicant registration information will be reviewed in two stages; in the first stage, initial review will be conducted by an ROC overseas unit (in places without OCAC staff, initial review will be conducted by the OCAC directly). Stage 2 reviewwill be a final review conducted by the OCAC, with reviews carried out in batches. Admission results will be formally sent to the respective overseas missions and overseas cultural and educational centers for notification to the applicants. Applicants may also check the results on the "OCAC Activity Registration System" after the application deadline.
(3)Entry visa: Applicants should submit all documents required and apply for their own Taiwan entry visa.
6.Number of participants to be enrolled: 40
7.Registration :
(1)Registration time and place: Please see the instructions in the admission notification.
(2)At time of registration, the participant shall pay the self-paid amount due, hand over their passport, and receive their participant ID card, participant handbook, and dormitory room assignment.
(3)Fees:
1.)Paid by the participant:
i.)Self-paid fee: NT$21,465/person,to be paid to the undertaking unit on registration. No refund for early withdrawal.
ii.)Personal return air ticket, visa fee, luggage transportation fee, spending money and personal expenditure.
iii.)Fee for medical insurance taken out in country of residence.
iv.)Personal medical fees, compensation for damage caused through personal factor (parents bear joint responsibility) during the activity.
v.)Accommodation and other expenses arising from early arrival in or delayed departure from Taiwan.
2.)Fees subsidized by the OCAC: NT$14,310/person, including teaching,teaching material, visits, food and accommodation, transportation,administration and other expenses.
8.Important Notices:
(1) During the program, the participants must abide by all rules and regulations and comply with group disciplinary rules. Serious violations can result in expulsion by the OCAC, to which student and parents should not object to, nor should return of expenses for joining this program that have already been paid be demanded.
(2)The participants must arrange for medical insurance in their country of residence prior to arrival. Should medical treatment be necessary for the participant during the program for a sudden illness or recurrence of chronic symptoms, any related medical fees shall be paid by the participant(s); neither the participants nor their parents may make any claim for compensation to OCAC or the undertaking unit.
(3)Those with special medical conditions (such as heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, mental illness, epilepsy, infectious disease, or pregnancy) that might affect normal participation should not enroll for the program. Otherwise, the participants will be solely responsible for any incidents arising from preexisting health conditions and there will be no connection to the organizer or undertaking unit.
(4)Those with a prior record of drug abuse, criminal activity, or bad behavior will not be allowed to enroll.
(5)The participants’ luggage should be simple and easy to carry and should not contain any banned articles or products made from protected animal species; please adhere to customs regulations.
(6) Each participant should arrive in Taiwan and depart on the stipulated date. All expenses for early arrival or late departure caused by seat or other factors shall be borne by the participants: transportation arrangements for delayed arrivals or early departures may be assisted by the organizing unit; however, all related costs shall be borne by the participant.
(7)After the activity ends and the participants should return to their place of residence, they cannot, for any reason, apply to remain to in Taiwan for further study or live as an overseas compatriot student or overseas student.
(8)The participants should take part in the activity in full and must not leave midway. In the event of special circumstances requiring early departure, the participant(s) parent should submit a request detailing the situation; this will be passed by an overseas office or culture center to the OCAC for review; after OCAC approval and notification of the undertaking unit, the procedure for early departure will be handled, upon completion of which the participant(s) can leave; otherwise, all consequences will be the responsibility of participant(s) and will have no connection to the OCAC or the undertaking unit.
(9) To ensure that opportunities to participate are distributed fairly, those who have never been to Taiwan to take part in this activity will be given enrollment priority.If two or more individuals from the same household apply at the same time, only one will be accepted in principle, and the others will be placed on the waiting list. However, this restriction does not apply to multiples (e.g., twins or triplets). The OCAC reserves the right to make the final decision on admission based on resource allocation, available spots, and the overall effectiveness of the program.
(10)The participants should bring suitable clothes, casual clothes, leather shoes and trainers to meet the needs of different occasions.
(11) OCAC reserves the right to decide whether to proceed or not depending on the registration status of the session and other factors;Please do not purchase flight tickets before receiving official confirmation of acceptance. If the program is canceled, the OCAC will not reimburse any expenses incurred, including flight tickets purchased in advance.

1. Objective
The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) aims to enhance the Mandarin language skills of overseas compatriot youth who is going to continue the education in Taiwan. The OCAC Language Study Program is designed to improve the overall language proficiency of the students, including listening, speaking, reading, writing, and text input skills. Such language improvement will enhance adaptability to studying and living in Taiwan while deepening understanding of Taiwan’s diverse culture.

4. Eligibility
(1) Overseas compatriot youth must meet the following criteria:
A.For the regional program, the overseas compatriot youth must be at least 14 years old and under 20 years old. For the global program, Summer Class 1 and 2 serve for teenagers aged 14 to under 18. Summer Class 3 serves for young adults aged 18 to under 22. (as determined by the date of birth on the passport, with age calculated as of the program's start date).
B.Currently resides overseas and holds a passport issued by the country of residence, or a R.O.C., TAIWAN passport with Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement.
C.Holds the “i Compatriot Card” issued by the OCAC.

D.Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn Mandarin, capable of basic self-care and able to adapt to group living.
E.Priority is given to those with supporting documents that demonstrates one’s application to the 2026 Academic Year Industry-Academia Collaboration OYVTP Bachelor Degree Program or the 3+4 Vocational Education Program;subsequently to those with recommendation letters from an overseas compatriot school (which has either registered with the OCAC or has submitted a document for record-keeping in accordance with the “Directions for Contacting and Assisting with Overseas Compatriot Schools”), source Schools of Overseas Students (which has registered with the OCAC), or an overseas compatriot group (which has registered with the OCAC in accordance with the Directions of Overseas Compatriot Groups Registration).
(2)Global Program are for students who are not overseas compatriots but study in one of the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML) or in regular schools if they meet the following criteria:
A.For the global program, teenagers refer to those aged 14 to under 18, and young adults refer to those aged 18 to under 22 (as determined by the date of birth on the passport, with age calculated as of the program's start date).
B.Currently resides overseas and holds a passport issued by the country of residence.
C.Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn Mandarin, capable of basic self-care and able to adapt to group living.
D.A recommendation letter from a teacher at a TCML or a regular school. A Taiwanese Mandarin teacher at a regular school can provide recommendation letters for two applicants.
5. Application Procedure
(1) Application Process: 2026/1/1-2026/3/31 (GMT+8); once the slots are filled, application will close early.
(2) Application Method: Please apply online before the deadline at http://register.ocac.gov.tw/.
(3) Required Documents:
A. Enrollment Agreement (see Annex). The form must be signed by the applicant and a legal guardian.
B. Copies of a valid passport of the country of residence, or a valid R.O.C., TAIWAN passport and the page of Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement.
C. Supporting application documents for the Industry-Academia Collaboration OYVTP (Bachelor’s Degree) or a 3+4 Vocational Education Program (if applicable).
D. A recommendation letter from a teacher (compatriot youth applicants are not required).
E. recommendation letter from a local overseas compatriot school, source Schools or an overseas compatriot group (if applicable).
(4) Registration is deemed to have read and agreed to this admission guidelines and the notification regarding gathering, handling and using personal information of participants (see Annexes 5).
6. Application Review Process
The application documents will be reviewed by Taiwan overseas embassies and OCAC Cultural Center during the first stage (if OCAC does not have officers stationed in the region, the preliminary review will be handled by our OCAC officers assigned to oversee that region). The OCAC will then conduct the second stage review. The final admission results will be communicated through our overseas embassies and OCAC Cultural Centers.
7. Passport and Visa Requirements
The participant’s passport must be valid for at least six months to be approved for entry into Taiwan. The duration of visa-exempt stays varies by nationality. If you plan to stay beyond the visa-exempt period (such as staying over 30 to 90 days), you cannot use the visa-free entry or landing visa, and must apply for an appropriate visa before arrival at our overseas embassy or consulate. Otherwise, the organizer will not be held responsible if the stay cannot be extended.
8. Enrollment
(1)Date: Please follow the instructions provided in your acceptance notification. If you need to delay your enrollment, obtain prior approval from OCAC through the registration units; extensions are generally limited to three days.
(2)Location: Refer to the acceptance notification for details.
(3)Upon Enrollment: Participants are required to pay their portion of the fees and a security deposit, and will receive their participant ID card and accommodation details.
(4)Fees:
3-Week Program: The total cost is NT$38,800 per person; participants pay NT$23,800, with NT$15,000 subsidized by the OCAC.
4-Week Program: The total cost is NT$51,700 per person; participants pay NT$31,700, with NT$20,000 subsidized by the OCAC.
9. Course Content
(1)Mandarin courses: A series of intensive Mandarin-learning lessons help participants progressively improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
(2)Text input and Internet application courses: The classes use OCAC“Huayuworld”(www.huayuworld.org) resources and activities, allowing students to learn Mandarin and computer input methods through class activities.
(3)Cultural courses: The classes focus on exploring traditional Chinese culture, Taiwan's diverse cultural heritage, and folk arts. Through various hands-on activities, both active and passive, participants gain in-depth personal experiences.
(4)School Visits and Youth Seminars: Participants will visit one domestic university and one technical or vocational institution that hosts the specialized OCAC programs for overseas compatriot students (including the 3+4 Vocational Education Program for Overseas Compatriot Student, and Overseas Youths Vocational Training Program for 2-Year associate degree and 4-Year bachelor’s degree). The participants will visit two schools in total (only one school for participants at the Global Program (Summer Class 1)). The visits will introduce Taiwanese higher education and technical-vocational education, including experience-based activities, and provide opportunities for participants to engage in discussions with students at the host schools.
(5)Evening Activities: Flexibly arranged sessions such as self-study, tutoring, and group recreational activities.
(6)Others: Nearby excursions and a 2-day-and-1-night graduation trip.
10. Program Features
(1)Intensive courses from Monday to Friday, at least six hours a day. Lesson review or nearby excursions on Saturdays.
(2)Classes are divided by the participants’ Mandarin proficiency level, ranging from 10 to 16 students. Class exercise and homework are provided to help participants better grasp the language.
(3)Cultural Courses and Visits: These activities allow participants to experience Taiwanese culture and expand their vocabulary in Mandarin across different contexts. Participants can also take home their hands-on projects as souvenirs.
(4)Meals and Accommodation: During the program, participants are provided with three meals daily featuring Taiwanese flavors with balanced nutrition. Dormitories accommodate 4 to 6 participants per room, fostering interaction among participants from different regions and building lasting friendships.
(5)Dormitory Facilities: Dorms are equipped with air conditioning, designated spaces for recreational and fitness activities, and self-service laundry facilities.
(6)Off-Campus Stays: All participants must provide prior written consent from their parents or designated guardians to stay overnight off-campus.
11. Notifications
(1)The organizer reserves the right to decide whether to proceed with the program based on various factors. If the program is canceled, applicants will be notified separately. However, costs incurred by applicants, such as airfare, will not be reimbursed.
(2)This program provides accident or travel insurance for participants. However, participants must arrange their own personal medical insurance before departure. Should any pre-existing conditions recur or medical emergencies arise during the program, participants are responsible for all related medical expenses. Neither participants nor their guardians may file any claims against the OCAC or the executing agencies.
(3)The program involves group living, dynamic activities, and off-site trips. Participants will share accommodations and cannot request or pay extra for room changes, private rooms, or additional beds for companions. Special accommodations cannot be provided. Those with medical conditions or symptoms that may significantly impact themselves or others—such as heart disease, cerebrovascular conditions, diabetes, infectious diseases, recent major surgeries, pregnancy, epilepsy, or mental disorders—are advised to carefully evaluate their situation before registering. Participation is not recommended in such cases.
(4)Participants are expected to follow national laws and program regulations, including the regulations of the OCAC Language Study Program for Compatriot Youth. In cases of legal violations, severe misconduct, or situations warranting dismissal, the organizer may expel the participant without refunding program fees.
(5)Participants who achieve a passing grade of 70 (out of 100), do not miss more than 20% of the total course hours (excluding government or hospital-imposed quarantine measures), and complete placement and final tests will receive a completion certificate in Mandarin and English. The certificate will also indicate the total hours of Mandarin language learning.
In accordance with Taiwan’s Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act and to protect the physical and mental health of minors, participants are strictly prohibited from smoking or drinking at the program site, including dormitory areas. (6)Violations will be subject to strict disciplinary action in line with relevant regulations.
(7)In line with Taiwan’s environmental policies to reduce waste, participants are encouraged to bring their own eco-friendly utensils, water bottles/cups, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, shower caps, slippers, and other personal items.
(8)If classes are canceled due to natural disasters (e.g., typhoons), such cancellations are considered force majeure, and make-up classes or refunds will not be provided. Similarly, participants who withdraw early, take leave, or miss activities for personal reasons will not be eligible for make-up classes or refunds.
(9)Participants who fail to meet the requirements for obtaining a completion certificate, except in cases of force majeure, will be restricted from applying for the program in the following year.

1. Objective

(1) Overseas compatriot youth must meet the following criteria:
A.For the regional program, the overseas compatriot youth must be at least 14 years old and under 20 years old. For the global program, Summer Class 1 and 2 serve for teenagers aged 14 to under 18. Summer Class 3 serves for young adults aged 18 to under 22. (as determined by the date of birth on the passport, with age calculated as of the program's start date).
B.Currently resides overseas and holds a passport issued by the country of residence, or a R.O.C., TAIWAN passport with Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement.
C.Holds the “i Compatriot Card” issued by the OCAC.

(2)Global Program are for students who are not overseas compatriots but study in one of the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML) or in regular schools if they meet the following criteria:
A.For the global program, teenagers refer to those aged 14 to under 18, and young adults refer to those aged 18 to under 22 (as determined by the date of birth on the passport, with age calculated as of the program's start date).
B.Currently resides overseas and holds a passport issued by the country of residence.
C.Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn Mandarin, capable of basic self-care and able to adapt to group living.
D.A recommendation letter from a teacher at a TCML or a regular school. A Taiwanese Mandarin teacher at a regular school can provide recommendation letters for two applicants.
5. Application Procedure
(1) Application Process: 2026/1/1-2026/3/14 (GMT+8); once the slots are filled, application will close early.
(2) Application Method: Please apply online before the deadline at http://register.ocac.gov.tw/.
(3) Required Documents:
A. Enrollment Agreement (see Annex). The form must be signed by the applicant and a legal guardian.
B. Copies of a valid passport of the country of residence, or a valid R.O.C., TAIWAN passport and the page of Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement.
C. Supporting application documents for the Industry-Academia Collaboration OYVTP (Bachelor’s Degree) or a 3+4 Vocational Education Program (if applicable).
D. A recommendation letter from a teacher (compatriot youth applicants are not required).
E. recommendation letter from a local overseas compatriot school, source Schools or an overseas compatriot group (if applicable).
(4) Registration is deemed to have read and agreed to this admission guidelines and the notification regarding gathering, handling and using personal information of participants (see Annexes 5).
6. Application Review Process
The application documents will be reviewed by Taiwan overseas embassies and OCAC Cultural Center during the first stage (if OCAC does not have officers stationed in the region, the preliminary review will be handled by our OCAC officers assigned to oversee that region). The OCAC will then conduct the second stage review. The final admission results will be communicated through our overseas embassies and OCAC Cultural Centers.
7. Passport and Visa Requirements
The participant’s passport must be valid for at least six months to be approved for entry into Taiwan. The duration of visa-exempt stays varies by nationality. If you plan to stay beyond the visa-exempt period (such as staying over 30 to 90 days), you cannot use the visa-free entry or landing visa, and must apply for an appropriate visa before arrival at our overseas embassy or consulate. Otherwise, the organizer will not be held responsible if the stay cannot be extended.
8. Enrollment
(1)Date: Please follow the instructions provided in your acceptance notification. If you need to delay your enrollment, obtain prior approval from OCAC through the registration units; extensions are generally limited to three days.
(2)Location: Refer to the acceptance notification for details.
(3)Upon Enrollment: Participants are required to pay their portion of the fees and a security deposit, and will receive their participant ID card and accommodation details.
(4)Fees:
3-Week Program: The total cost is NT$38,800 per person; participants pay NT$23,800, with NT$15,000 subsidized by the OCAC.
4-Week Program: The total cost is NT$51,700 per person; participants pay NT$31,700, with NT$20,000 subsidized by the OCAC.
9. Course Content
(1)Mandarin courses: A series of intensive Mandarin-learning lessons help participants progressively improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
(2)Text input and Internet application courses: The classes use OCAC“Huayuworld”(www.huayuworld.org) resources and activities, allowing students to learn Mandarin and computer input methods through class activities.
(3)Cultural courses: The classes focus on exploring traditional Chinese culture, Taiwan's diverse cultural heritage, and folk arts. Through various hands-on activities, both active and passive, participants gain in-depth personal experiences.
(4)School Visits and Youth Seminars: Participants will visit one domestic university and one technical or vocational institution that hosts the specialized OCAC programs for overseas compatriot students (including the 3+4 Vocational Education Program for Overseas Compatriot Student, and Overseas Youths Vocational Training Program for 2-Year associate degree and 4-Year bachelor’s degree). The participants will visit two schools in total (only one school for participants at the Global Program (Summer Class 1)). The visits will introduce Taiwanese higher education and technical-vocational education, including experience-based activities, and provide opportunities for participants to engage in discussions with students at the host schools.
(5)Evening Activities: Flexibly arranged sessions such as self-study, tutoring, and group recreational activities.
(6)Others: Nearby excursions and a 2-day-and-1-night graduation trip.
10. Program Features
(1)Intensive courses from Monday to Friday, at least six hours a day. Lesson review or nearby excursions on Saturdays.
(2)Classes are divided by the participants’ Mandarin proficiency level, ranging from 10 to 16 students. Class exercise and homework are provided to help participants better grasp the language.
(3)Cultural Courses and Visits: These activities allow participants to experience Taiwanese culture and expand their vocabulary in Mandarin across different contexts. Participants can also take home their hands-on projects as souvenirs.
(4)Meals and Accommodation: During the program, participants are provided with three meals daily featuring Taiwanese flavors with balanced nutrition. Dormitories accommodate 4 to 6 participants per room, fostering interaction among participants from different regions and building lasting friendships.
(5)Dormitory Facilities: Dorms are equipped with air conditioning, designated spaces for recreational and fitness activities, and self-service laundry facilities.
(6)Off-Campus Stays: All participants must provide prior written consent from their parents or designated guardians to stay overnight off-campus.
11. Notifications
(1)The organizer reserves the right to decide whether to proceed with the program based on various factors. If the program is canceled, applicants will be notified separately. However, costs incurred by applicants, such as airfare, will not be reimbursed.
(2)This program provides accident or travel insurance for participants. However, participants must arrange their own personal medical insurance before departure. Should any pre-existing conditions recur or medical emergencies arise during the program, participants are responsible for all related medical expenses. Neither participants nor their guardians may file any claims against the OCAC or the executing agencies.
(3)The program involves group living, dynamic activities, and off-site trips. Participants will share accommodations and cannot request or pay extra for room changes, private rooms, or additional beds for companions. Special accommodations cannot be provided. Those with medical conditions or symptoms that may significantly impact themselves or others—such as heart disease, cerebrovascular conditions, diabetes, infectious diseases, recent major surgeries, pregnancy, epilepsy, or mental disorders—are advised to carefully evaluate their situation before registering. Participation is not recommended in such cases.
(4)Participants are expected to follow national laws and program regulations, including the regulations of the OCAC Language Study Program for Compatriot Youth. In cases of legal violations, severe misconduct, or situations warranting dismissal, the organizer may expel the participant without refunding program fees.
(5)Participants who achieve a passing grade of 70 (out of 100), do not miss more than 20% of the total course hours (excluding government or hospital-imposed quarantine measures), and complete placement and final tests will receive a completion certificate in Mandarin and English. The certificate will also indicate the total hours of Mandarin language learning.
In accordance with Taiwan’s Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act and to protect the physical and mental health of minors, participants are strictly prohibited from smoking or drinking at the program site, including dormitory areas. (6)Violations will be subject to strict disciplinary action in line with relevant regulations.
(7)In line with Taiwan’s environmental policies to reduce waste, participants are encouraged to bring their own eco-friendly utensils, water bottles/cups, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, shower caps, slippers, and other personal items.
(8)If classes are canceled due to natural disasters (e.g., typhoons), such cancellations are considered force majeure, and make-up classes or refunds will not be provided. Similarly, participants who withdraw early, take leave, or miss activities for personal reasons will not be eligible for make-up classes or refunds.
(9)Participants who fail to meet the requirements for obtaining a completion certificate, except in cases of force majeure, will be restricted from applying for the program in the following year.

Program Overview and Application Guidelines
I. Purpose
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance at a rapid pace, alongside growing volatility in the global economy and supply-chain environment, companies are under increasing pressure to build resilient organizations grounded in strong governance, effective risk management, and long-term sustainability.
With a focus on integrating AI into corporate governance, this training program is designed to help overseas Taiwanese business leaders and corporate decision-makers better understand emerging trends in AI governance, practical adoption approaches, and risk-management strategies in cross-border operations. Through this program, we aim to support businesses in strengthening long-term competitiveness and sustainable performance, while also encouraging exchange and collaboration across related industries, both in Taiwan and globally.
Ⅱ. Dates and Agenda
(1) June 1 (Monday) to June 5 (Friday). The Program will take place over a 5-day, 4-night period.
(2) Draft Agenda (Subject to Change): The five-day program will include professional training courses, corporate visits, and attendance at the 2026 COMPUTEX TAIPEI. (The itinerary and program content are provisional. The finalized schedule will be provided upon confirmation.)
(The OCAC reserves the right to amend the agenda based on actual circumstances.)
Ⅲ. Eligibility and Program Capacity
(1) Eligibility:
a. Applicants must be proficient in Chinese communication and currently engaged in AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology development and AI application–related industries in their country of residence, or be interested in promoting industrial innovation and upgrading, and be capable of assisting relavant Taiwanese industries in expanding into overseas markets.
b. Applicants must hold an i-Compatriot Card or agree to apply for one during the program.
c. Priority will be given to applicants who have not participated in OCAC’s economic and trade training programs (including training courses and workshops) or visiting delegations (including invitation and observation delegations) within the past two years. Registration is limited to only one person from each household or company. Family members, relatives, friends, or assistants are not permitted to accompany participants in this program.
(2) Program Capacity: The program plans to admit 30 participants. The program will not be conducted if fewer than 15 participants are admitted.
Ⅳ. Application Period and Process
(1) Application Period: Applications will be accepted from now until 11:59 p.m. on March 13, 2026 (Taiwan Time). Late applications and waitlist requests will not be accepted.
(2) Application Process:
a. This program utilizes the dedicated sign-up webpage, “OCAC Overseas Compatriot Affairs Activity Sigh-up System” (https://register.ocac.gov.tw). Please be sure to complete the application process on the webpage prior to the deadline. The initial review of applications and recommendations will be conducted by OCAC’s overseas service offices, followed by a final review by OCAC. (For applicants residing in areas without OCAC overseas personnel, the review will be conducted directly by the OCAC.) Applicants will be notified of the review results by email starting in late April, and official notifications will also be sent to relevant overseas missions or Overseas Community Affairs Culture Centers for onward communication.
b. The collection, processing, and use of participants' personal information will be handled in accordance with Article 8 of the Personal Data Protection Act. Please carefully read the information provided and check the consent box to proceed with the registration process.
c. I-Compatriot Card Users: Applicants using their i-Compatriot Card account will automatically have certain personal information (including Chinese and English names, date of birth, gender, email address, i-Compatriot Card number, and country of residence) imported to streamline the registration process. Cardholders not logging in with their i-Compatriot Card account must ensure accurate completion of the i-Compatriot Card number field. Those who have not yet obtained an i-Compatriot Card should check the consent box to apply for one, and the OCAC will issue the i-Compatriot Card based on the application information.
d. Applicants must provide a valid and frequently used email address to receive the application result notification and online check-in instructions.
Ⅴ. Program Fees
(1) Expenses Covered by OCAC: OCAC will cover the costs of courses, meals (excluding dinner on June 5), four nights of accommodation during the training program, group transportation, site visits, insurance, and venue-related expenses.
(2) Expenses Covered by Participants:
a. Round-trip airfare between the participant’s location of residence and Taiwan, expenses of transportation to the registration location and transportation between the event venue and the airport upon conclusion of the program.
b. During the program, accommodation will be arranged on a double occupancy basis (two persons per room). Requests for early check-in, late check-out, or individual room bookings with additional costs should be submitted in advance. Such requests will be subject to hotel availability, and any associated expenses will be the responsibility of the participants.
c. OCAC will provide a travel insurance with coverage of NTD 2 million, along with an additional 10% coverage for accident medical expenses. If participants consider this coverage insufficient, they may arrange for additional insurance at their own discretion. Any medical expenses incurred during the program period in Taiwan due to illness or infection shall be fully borne by the participant.
Ⅵ. Certificate of Completion
Participants who do not take leave (including absences) for more than one-fifth of the total course hours and have received prior approval from OCAC for any leave requests will be issued a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.
Ⅶ. Important Notices
(1) Accepted applicants must confirm their attendance with the designated event organizer according to OCAC’s instructions to officially confirm eligibility.
(2) This is an intensive program. Participants are advised to assess their health and physical condition to ensure they can handle the demands of the activities without compromising their learning experience. To avoid wasting training resources, full participation throughout the program is required. Participants must not leave the program without prior approval from OCAC, unless granted special permission. Those who cannot participate for the entire duration should refrain from registering.
(3) Participants are requested to purchase round-trip airfare only after receiving official confirmation of acceptance. If participants experience any symptoms suggestive of a legally notifiable communicable diseases or other health concerns before check-in or during the program, please inform the OCAC or the event organizer and suspend your participation to safeguard the health of fellow participants.
(4) OCAC reserves the right to interpret and make decisions regarding any matters not explicitly covered above.
